Timothy S. Hoar
The first 14 years of his career was spent in the oil and gas industry serving in various legal and executive positions with Chevron Canada Ltd., Home Oil Company Ltd. and Geocrude Energy Inc. Since 1986, Tim has carried on a practice of law in corporate, securities and natural resource related areas. In August, 1994 Tim was involved in the formation of the law firm Hoar, Lee & Boers, and since October 1, 1998, Tim has practiced in the law firm he founded, ProVenture Law, LLP. Tim has extensive hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry as well as in corporate law. Based on his practice within certain oil companies, Tim appreciates the needs and desires of corporate clients and can bring his experience to the boardroom when required. Tim's experience includes all aspects of exploration, development and operations in the oil and gas industry as well as the mining industry. His extensive corporate experience includes current representation of public and private corporations in Alberta. Tim's practice includes most aspects of securities law, having advised underwriters and small to intermediate publicly listed companies on TSX Venture Exchange. Tim is a director of Trivalence Mining Corporation (a public company primarily engaged in diamond mining ventures in west Africa - TSX listed) and was a director of Arakis Energy Corporation, a public international oil & gas company (was NASDAQ listed and now is a part of Talisman Energy Inc.), and Monterey Energy Ltd. an Alberta based oil & gas company (was ASE listed and now is a part of International Sovereign Energy Corp. - TSX listed). Tim also acts as corporate secretary and counsel to several private and public companies.
