David McKenzie
David has a broad legal background in several commercial law areas. David articled and commenced practice with a major national law firm in commercial litigation. After 3 years of practice in Calgary, David joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade as a Foreign Service Officer, practicing law in the Trade Law Division of the Department in Ottawa and completing a 2 year posting in the commercial section of the Canadian Embassy in Venezuela, focusing on the petroleum sector. David returned to private legal practice in Calgary in 2000, focusing on corporate commercial practice. Since 2000, his areas of work have included the securitization of bank financing, business acquisition, commercial transactions, real property secured lending and foreclosure on real property secured debt. David joined ProVenture Law LLP in 2004 and is expanding his practice into the securities aspects of corporate finance and commercial transactions.
