Brent Walter
Brent Walter is a business lawyer practicing primarily in the areas of securities, corporate and commercial law. Mr. Walter’s practice emphasizes public and private equity offerings, stock exchange listings, secured debt financings and the negotiation and implementation of a wide variety of commercial agreements as required by his clients from time to time, including those relating to the purchase and sale of a business, leases, employment contracts, etc. In this regard, Mr. Walter has acted for junior and intermediate public companies, financial institutions, resource companies, small businesses and entrepreneurs. In addition to his practice, Mr. Walter serves as a director of a number of public companies, has acted as a mentor for the University of Calgary's Venture Development Legal Clinic and has participated as a panelist for the University of Saskatchewan's Orientation Day for articling students. He has for the past several years been an instructor at the Alberta Bar Admission Course where he teaches "Purchase and Sale of a Business", and has taught a similar course for the Legal Education Society of Alberta focusing on structuring the acquisition of a business.
